MQM protest rebutts George Galloway’s remarks

KARACHI: The Rabitta Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday staged a protest outside Karachi Press Club against the statement of British parliamentarian, George Galloway.

A day earlier, Galloway had predicted that Scotland Yard was all set to initiate court proceedings against MQM Chief Altaf Hussain in the cases he is facing in London.

This was not the first time the British parliamentarian had issued such remarks against Altaf Hussain and which were always rebuffed by the MQM.

Addressing the participants of the rally, MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi denounced the recent statement of the British parliamentarian, saying some ‘George Galloways’ are here and some are in Britian.

He said, ‘we were Pakistanis even before the country appeared on the global map’.

Another MQM leader, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said ‘everyone knows what George Galloway is all about’.

Dr Farooq Sattar said people of Pakistan are being deliberately misled and appealed to the British election commission to take notice of George Galloway’s statement.

“George Galloway should be subjected to legal proceedings and arrested,” he demanded.
