Man tries to attack Maulana Fazl in London

LONDON: Hasan Niazi, a nephew of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan, was taken into custody after he purportedly tried to attack Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

According to reports, Niazi was cleared by the Met police after brief interrogation. Our correspondent says a man tried to attack the maulana shortly after his speech to the House of Common.

However, Hasan Niazi claimed that he was slapped by the JUI-F chief for using his right to protest.

Pakistan’s High Commission in London says a criminal case would be registered over the attack on Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

The JUI-F severely criticized the attack on Maulana Fazlur Rehman who is on official visit to Britain as Chairman of the Kashmir Committee of the Parliament.
