Major reshuffle in Police dept, bureaucracy as Sindh govt removes Karachi police chief, DG SBCA, DCs

KARACHI: A major reshuffle in Police Department and bureaucracy was witnessed on Friday, when the Sindh government removed Karachi police chief Ghulam Qadir Thebo and sacked ten deputy commissioners from their posts.
AIG Mushtaq Meher has been appointed as the new police chief of the city, while the sacked Karachi police chief has been appointed as the Chairman Anti-Corruption Unit.
The government also removed DG Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), Manzoor Qadir Kaka and SBCA senior official Shahzar Shamon from their posts.
As many as ten deputy commissioners (DCs) have been removed from their posts. Administrator Hyderabad, Khalid Sheikh has been removed from the post. Administrator Saqib Soomro, who left for Germany already, has also been removed from his post. The authorities also sacked DG Sindh Building Control Authority, Manzoor Qadir Kakar, who is out of the country since long time.
