HYDERABAD: Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party chairman Dr. Qadir Magsi has demanded national language status to Sindhi language and official language of Sindh. He welcomed decision of Supreme Court to accord national langauge status to Urdu but said all provincial languages be declared official languages of respective provinces. Addressing press conference at press club here Dr. Magsi said Sindh was historical and old language that represents the age old civilization and history to deny it national language status was injustice. Dr. Magsi demanded expulsion of all illegal immigrants from Sindh including Afghanis, Burmese, Bengalis and others and to withdraw from them the right of vote. He said during fighting between Muhajirs and Pathans in Karachi millions of Pakhtoons and Punjabis were settled in Karachi illegally due to which thousands of people were made target of taregt killing and terrorism. He said due to settlement of illegal non Sindhi immigrants the aboriginal Sindhis were facing hunger and poverty. He said Sindhi and Urdu speaking people shall have to join hands to wage struggle for rights of Sindh. We consider Urdu speaking people who came her before 1954 as Sindhis and our brothers. He said there were already millions of non Sindhis in Sindh and now Bahria town was planned under conspiracy to convet Sindhis in minority. But he said Sindhis would offer resistance to such evil designs. He said Sindh generates Rs.600 billions from oil and gas but gets scant amount as charity this was deprivation to Sindh. He asked Nawaz Sharif to treat all provinces alike to end feelings of deprivation.
