ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was held on Friday headed by the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (rtrd) Sardar Raza Khan during which issues relating to the local government (LG) elections were discussed.
According to Secretary ECP Ishtiak Ahmad Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will conduct LG polls in May this year, Punjab in November, and Sindh will hold them in March 2016.
He went on to say that the respective provinces would announce final dates in due time.
Meanwhile, the CEC said that LG polls in Islamabad as well as Cantonment would be conducted upon completion of legislative aspects.
He added that in Sindh and Punjab, the LG polls would be held after completion of delimitation of constituencies.
