THATTA: Malteser International, a German based organization conducted a Project Launching workshop, “Building capacities of vulnerable coastal communities to live a healthy life through accessible and resilient health, nutrition and WASH services in district Thatta”.
Minister for Social Welfare Shamim Mumtaz also joined in the workshop and the District administration, stakeholders and civil society representative participated in the event on the occasion.
The workshop concluded addressed by Shamim Mumtaz Social Welfare Minister, she highlighted the issues regarding the poor sanitation system and un-hygienic conditions of the rural area, she also ensured the support from social welfare department to make the better lives of communities and appreciated the project activities further offered to pay her services in strategic planning for the rural development.
Area coordinator Sindh Mubashir Hassan Soomro briefed the project objective and activities, that how Project will serve the vulnerable coastal communities, Malteser International is taking initiative through this project to play a role model to link-up communities with district administration.
Meanwhile civil society representatives shared their views and essential hitches of the coastal living folks. The project explained overall activities of the project such as work to rehabilitate the three health facilities and to start 24/7 health assistance particularly for gyne and obstetric issues.
District Administration Additional Deputy Commissioner Arshad Mahmood Barki has appreciated the initiatives of Malteser international and ensured the support from district administration.
