PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Assembly on Tuesday approved a unanimous resolution against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, stating that MQM chief must be brought back to Pakistan through Interpol and tried for treason.
The resolution also condemned Altaf’s invitation to India and a letter written to United Nations for sending forces to Karachi.
“The government should initiate a case of treason against Altaf Hussain for his `hate-speech against the Pakistan Army and the country.
The resolution was moved by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) member Shaukat Yousafzai, which was signed by Minister for Information Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, Minister for Finance Muzafar Said, Minister for Law Imtiaz Shahid, Pakistan Peoples Party parliamentary leader Muhammad Ali Shah
Bacha, JUI-F’s Munawar Khan, Syed Jafar Shah of ANP, Arbab Akber Hayat
of PML-N, Samiullah Alezai of PTI and Anisa Zeb Tahir Kheli of QWP.
The Assembly strongly condemned Altaf’s statement and demanded the federal government to get him arrested through Interpol and brought to Pakistan for taking legal action.
