Karachi: IGP directs security plan for Muharram

KARACHI: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Ghulam Haider Jamali on Friday has directed that a security plan be formulated for the Muharram.
As per details, chaired a meeting at the Central Police Office (CPO), he said that such a plan should consist of extra-ordinary security measures.
A police statement said that the meeting reviewed the overall law and order situation. The IGP also called for necessary reforms in the Police Department in order to ensure good governance.
He was of the view that the process of accountability would also help enhance the capacity building of the Police Department.
The IGP also called for devising a strategy for monitoring of the performance of offices and steps be taken for compiling sheet for daily performance of the police officers and cops.
He said that the process of computerization of the police departments be also speeded up. The IGP further instructed that the process of community policing be strengthened.
