Karachi citizens faces acute potable water shortage in Ramzan, Tanker Mafia with KW&SB active to sell Rs 5000 each

KARACHI:
A high level acute shortage of potable water in Karachi areas during the month of Ramzan, Tanker Mafia active selling tankers on Rs. 2000 to 5000, the residents of Gulshan-e-Hadeed and other parts of different areas of the city blocked highway and protest at Water bulk steel park on next day.
According to the protesters, the tanker mafia belonging to the local MPA and other influential authorities among Chairman and MD KW&SB and others was selling tankers during the month of Ramazan.
Karachi citizens suffering acute shortage of potable water in the different parts of important areas, particularly Defence, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, formerly Sheraton Hotel, Karachi Press Club and others. The sources also disclosed that the Tanker Mafia belongs to the elected members of Sindh Assembly and other influential’s are selling water tankers per Rs. 2000 to 5000.
Karachi Water Board and Sindh government has failed to provide potable water to the citizens in various parts of Karachi.
The protesters also claimed that the services station and other illegal connections have been given and taking heavy bribe by the employees in different parts, but they do not want provide water to the residents in the month of Ramzan.
