KARACHI: K-electric has organized a tree plantation campaign under the banner of Sarsabz oo PurSakoon Karachi at Azm training centre Gulshan Iqbal.
Additional Deputy Commissioner East Junaid Iqbal was the chief guest on the occasion.
K-Electric’s Director Energy Conservation Asif Siddiq, National Forum for Environment & Health’s President & Team Leader Naeem Qureshi, Secretary Ruqiya Naeem, Hamid Alvi, Asif Shamsi, Adnan Faooqui, NFEH’S members Ghulam Kiberia, Marium Nadir and others attended the ceremony & Plant the saplings at the Training Centre.
K-Electric will plant 15 thousand Saplings at the different area’s of the city under this campaign and also look after these saplings.
This campaign is the Joint effort of Commissioner office and NFEH and there aim is to plant 0.3 million saplings till the end of the month of August. chief Guest Addl. Dy Commissioner Junaid Ahmed said that plantation is most important for the city’s environment and it will help to overcome the environmental issue’s of the city and every citizen must take part in the campaign.
Director K-electric Asif Siddiqui said that according to our Climate Change Policy we are working to save energy and taking part in plantation is all because our policy.
NFEH’s President M. Naeem Qureshi said that this is Karachi’s biggest Plantation campaign and Commissioner Karachi, Forest department and Industrial and business organizations are taking part in this organization will full spirit and he added that we will achieve this target soon.
He appreciated role of K Electric for conservation of energy & awareness campaign in the city.
