KARACHI: A joint investigation team (JIT) will carry out interrogation of 29 of the suspects arrested by the Rangers from Nine Zero, sources said on Wednesday.
The 29 suspects also include Amir Khan and Umair Siddiqui.
Sources said, the Interior Ministry has issued a notification today for the formation of a JIT for the purpose.
An anti-terrorism court today, extended the physical remand of five suspects arrested during the Rangers raid on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters Nine-Zero for 14 days.
Shakeel, Abid, Mehmood and others were accused of possessing illegal weapons and explosives and were produced before the court on Wednesday.
Earlier today, a heavy contingent of Rangers and police officials visited Nine-Zero and its adjacent areas and reviewed security there.
The law enforcement agencies visited the area following a letter by MQM office-bearers.
Police officials said MQM Nine-Zero office-bearers had written letter to police and Rangers on March 24 over security concerns in the locality.
