KARACHI: The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah agreed to provide 250 Acres of land to the Japanese group of investment DTS at Japan Special Economic Zone near Dhabeji district Thatta for establishment of IT and Engineering related manufacturing industries with expected investment up $ 300 million and generating 10,000 job opportunities within two years. This he decided while holding meeting with Japanese delegation led by Dr. HIRONAO TAKAHASHI Chairman DTS Group & Honorary Investment Counselor, Board of Investment Pakistan, which called on him at CM House Karachi today. Mr. Irfan Ahmed Siddiqui Project Director DTS Group Japan was also present in the meeting.
Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister Sindh said that we are deeply interested in the Japanese Investment here in Sindh to take advantage of its Technology Development. He said that Sindh Government has established Japan Special Economic Zone with 2000 Acres of land at Dhabeji to facilitate the Japanese investors. He said that all incentives, necessary facilities and administrative support would be provided to Japanese Investors from Sindh Government and even they to be helped to get their other problems (if any) relating to Federal Government as resolved.
However, the Chief Minister Sindh asked the delegates to prepare time frame for the establishment of their industrial units and try to complete the same within two year. He also directed the officers concerned to resolve the issues pertaining to the allotment, and clear vacant possession of land in-question very quickly. The Chief Minister Sindh while appreciating the briefing, that revealed that this Japanese Investment to create more than 10,000 job opportunities, asked the delegates to give priority to the local people in employment. The Chief Minister Sindh said that Sindh was rich with natural resources and have good potential of investment and invited the Japanese Investors to avail the opportunities of investment and incentives in the Sindh Province.
Talking on the occasion, the visiting Chairman DTS Group Dr. HIRONAO TAKAHASHI said that his group intends to promote the trade and investment activities here at Sindh Province. He said that his group has also made investment of $ 10 million in IT & Telecom sectors at Karachi site Phase II, where software development and call centers have been established over 10 Acres of land. He said that his group wants to extend its investment and bring more investment and technology units from Japan as such has applied for the allotment of 250 Acres of land at Japan Special Economic Zone at Dhabeji. He appreciated the response and co-operation by the Chief Minister Sindh and the officers concerns for getting his investment project as materialized and mature.
Irfan Siddiqui the Project Director of DTS Group Japan while talking on the occasion said that after the clear possession of land, the physical work of construction would be started within 03 months and all industrial units within their premises would be established within two years. He said that this investment of more than $ 300 million would generate 10,000 job opportunities for the local people and it to bring prosperity due to directed indirect economic activities in the area. He said that DTS is also running call center and IT (Software) development center at Karachi site Phase II, where it even have provided training to local youths in IT under the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program (BBSYDP).
The Secretary to CM Alamdin Bullo, Secretary Finance Sohail Rajput, Secretary IT Ali Mumtaz Zaidi, and DG Sindh Board of Investment SBOI Raizuddin Qureshi were present in the meeting.
KARACHI: Special Assistant to CM Sindh for Culture and Tourism Ms Sharmila Faruqui said in her statement that the country is not in a position to face the politics of confrontation, Nawaz Sharif should learn from past mistakes and adopt the policies of former President Asif Ali Zardari who shrewdly take over all the challenges through his reconciliation policies.
She added that Asif Ali Zardari never derailed the democratic system and successfully completes his tenure for the first time in a history of Pakistan; a democratic government delivers the charge to next democratic rule.
She also said that to rule the country is not a bed of roses, PPP also face the huge challenges in its tenure like Sawat Operation, 18 and 19 amendment of constitution, Tahir ul Qadri protest and sit-in at Islamabad, corruption charges and much more but Asif Ali Zardari never opt the confrontation tool against democratic powers.

Sharmila Faruqui urged that Nawaz Sharif should not avoid the sacrifices of Pakistan Army and other Armed forces. He should not be egocentric and must think about the long run of Pakistan.
