Islamabad United beats Quetta Gladiators, wins 1st PSL Title

DUBAI: Islamabad United beats Quetta Gladiators by 6 wickets and to won first Pakistan Super League (PSL) Title.
United chased 175 runs tough target in 19th over of the second inning with Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq’s final shot.
Despite considered underdog as second cheapest team of the tournament, Islamabad United made it to final and beats Quetta Gladiators in last match.
Dwayne Smith and Brad Haddin took key part in the success as both played vital innings while chasing the 175runs total.
After losing Sharjeel Khan, Century maker of Play-off match on 13, United lost his second wicket of DR Smith on 73 of 53 balls with seven 4s and four 6s. Russel came in with a huge six to Zulfiqar Babar on first ball and took chasing ahead to the happy end.
Adnre Russell scored 7 for Islamabad United. Khalid Latif takes charge and played a responsible inning of 16 runs, Zulfiqar Babar took his catch on Anwar Ali’s ball.
Islamabad United under the captain-ship of Misbah ul Haq, one of the successful skippers of Pakistan Cricket history proved all expectations wrong after suffering many defeats in early stage of the tournament.
