LAHORE: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq held a meeting with Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif here on Tuesday.
Speaking to media after the meeting, Sirajul Haq said he was making efforts to bring government and Imran Khan on the same page to save democracy.
JI Ameer said they also wanted electoral reforms in the country so as to close the doors for rigging. He said it is not the issue of any single party but the entire nation.
Siraj said he was in contact with opposition leader and heads of all the political parties, adding he would continue his efforts till the last to resolve the issue.
Haq said: “We are making efforts to prevent bloodshed in Islamabad on August 14. I am not disappointed and I hope a respectable way will be carved out.”
