Illegal detentions main cause of growing anarchy in Pakistan: Dr Fowzia

Karachi, Feb 14: Illegal detentions and hidden torture cells in Pakistan are the main cause of the growing anarchy in the country, said Aafia Movement leader Dr Fowzia Siddiqui, addressing a big rally here on Sunday.
The rally named “We love Aafia walk” was organized by the Aafia Movement on the Mian University Road from the Safari Park to the NIPA Chowrangi. A large number of citizens, workers of social and political organizations, lawyers, teachers, women and youth attended the rally. The leaders of Pasban e Pakistan, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Khaksar Tehreek also attended the rally to express solidarity with the cause of release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.
They said the Pakistani nation unanimously demand early release and repatriation of the Pakistani women scientist Dr Aafia Siddiqui, and our rulers should play their due role in this regard. They said a large number of citizens, by participating in the rally, have proved that they want a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan and they want uphold and safeguard of their honor. They said the nation expects from the rulers to fulfill their promises and end the growing unrest and anarchy in society.
Noted neurologist of Pakistan Dr Fowzia Siddiqui in her address said that the daughters are not for sale, but their honor is more precious than our lives. She said the presence of a large number of people in illegal detention houses and torture cells of foreign elements is the main reason of the growing anarchy in Pakistan. She said the rulers should fulfill their promise of bringing back Dr Aafia Siddiqui; otherwise, the people of Pakistan would make them accountable on roads and streets.
Pasban e Pakistan President Altaf Shakoor regretted that in the coming March, Dr Aafia would complete 13 years in illegal detention. He said the State institutions are responsible for the kidnapping and trafficking of Dr Aafia Siddiqui and her minor children, her torture and her illegal detention. He asked the rulers to provide justice to Aafia and her family and play their due role in early release and repatriation of Dr Siddiqui.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Asadullah Bhutoo said that we express full solidarity with the Aafia Movement. Today is the day of honoring our national honor and providing respect and security to our mothers, sisters and daughters. The rulers should fulfill their promise regarding the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.
Naiza Rabbani of the PTI said that our leader Imran Khan would play his due role in bringing Aafia Siddiqui back home. She said that the nation want to see Dr Aafia Siddiqui rejoining with her ailing mother and children.
Advisor to Qauid Khaksar Tehreek Prof. Ali Nasar Askari said that the nation deep sleeping but need to sacrifice to wake up from their failures turned into struggle and take back our sister and the daughter of nation Aafia.
On the occasion, leaders of other parties and civil society also spoke and demanded of the government of Pakistan to raise the issue of Dr Aafia Siddiqui’s detention with the United States of America (USA) on government level, so that to pave way for early release and repatriation of the daughter of the nation.Later, the rally participants
