ISLAMABAD: A team of facilitators comprised of MQM leader Hyder Abbas Rizvi and Ijazul Haq on Wednesday approached Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to facilitate talks between the government and Dr. Tahirul Qadri.
Hyder Abbas Rizvi earlier talking to media said that the team will try to facilitate dialogue between Dr. Tahirul Qadri and the government to guide the country out of the political crisis.
The team was engaged in consultations with other leaders of PAT over the issue of the dialogue.
According to earlier reports the PAT chief had refused to meet the team.
However, Dr.Qadri while addressing his party workers said that he didn’t refuse to hold talks. “We are convinced of the importance of dialogue but it should have a proper mechanism,” he said.
Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar has also been active for meeting with the PAT leader.
