HYD JOURNALISTS PROTEST DEMO AGAINST CANCELLAION OF ARY CHANNEL LICENSE

Journalists of Hyderabad held protest demonstration here on Tuesday against cancellation of license of ARY TV channel. The demonstration was led by Yasin Rahi former president of Hyderabad union of journalists (dastoor) and Zahid Kalhoro ARY bureau chief Hyderabad, former president Hyderabad press club Muhammad Hussain Khan, Nasir Rahi, Abbas Kassar, Zafar Hakro, Faqir Saleem, Hafeez Magsi, and large number of reporters, photographers and cameramen participated in protest demonstration. The protesters condemned action of Pemra in canceling license of ARY and termed it as arbitrary and dictatorial. They demanded to withdraw the cancellation of license and observed that by strangulating freedom of information and expression the federal government was cutting its own feet. They also criticized ban on ARY anchor Mubashar Luqman and demanded to lift ban on him.
Similar protest was held by civil society which was led by Mehboob Sangi. They also condemned action of government and demanded to lift ban on ARY and its anchor person.

NP MOOT DEMANDS ABOLITION OF JAGRIDARI,COMPLETE PROVINCIAL SOVREIGNTY

A conference under head National, Class Rights and Democracy held here by National Party Sindh has demanded abolition of Jagirdari, distribution of land among peasant men and women, allotment of homes to them and fixing workers wages to at least Rs.20,000 and to issue such notification without delay. In another resolution the conference also demanded to set up Hari courts by amending Tenancy Act,to restore ownership rights of federating units on natural and mineral resources including oil,gas, coal and on coastal sea.The conference demanded to accept Sindhi, Balochi, Punjabi, Pushto and Siraeki as national lanuages as well complete provincial autonomy as without these measures democracy cant get strong. The conference was held to remember the struggle of late comrade Rais Brohi, comrade Ghulam Muhammad Legari and comrade Kazi Faiz Muhammad. The speakers vowed to fight against those who were bent conspiring to derail democracy. The moot condemned privatization policy of national institutes including Steel Mills, OGDC and demanded to withdraw it. Condemning recent killing of 8 workers near Hub conference also condemned the conspiracy to dividing federating units including Sindh and considers that Sindh was a unity the division of which was not possible.The conference was chaired by Senator Mir Ghous Bux Bizenjo and attended by Jan Buledi, Aslam Baloch, Dr.Hassan Nasir, Ramzan Memon, Taj Mari, Shahina Ramzan, Punhal Saryo, Iftikhar Baloch,Idrees Brohi and Akbar Brohi also addressed the conference. Mir Hasil Bizenjo said in his address that religion was not murderous in past as it was today and Mula can declared edict of Kufr against those who preach secularism. He said their National Party was the only one secular party in Pakistan . He asked working and middle as well lower middle class to join NP to get their lost rigts. He said state was piece of land with importance to people live on. State was neither democratic nor dictatorial in its shape. He said we shall not go back to 60s but should look forward and the only solution of all issues of country lies in democracy.
