KARACHI: Hundreds of thousand Muslims have started observing Aitkaf from Asar prayers today till sighting of Shawaal Moon.
Special arrangements were made in Masajid, including Abdali Masjid, Shahi Masjid, Umar Farooq Masjid, Khairul Madaras, Jamia Qasimul Aloom, in the city.
Noted Scholar Ghulam Mustafa Firdusi while talking to said I’tikaf has great importance and Muslims have a good chance to get the maximum blessings of Allah, The Almighty.
Motakifs started their Aitkaf in Mosques and at homes to follow the Sunnah of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The Sunnah Aitkaf for men, is to retreat and seclude oneself within the mosque while women at home during the last ten days of Ramazan.
