Hundreds of MPs yet to file statement of assets as deadline approaches

ISLAMABAD: As many as 811 MPs have yet to submit their statements of assets and liabilities with the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Tuesday was the last day to submit the statements. Chief ministers of Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan are prominent among those who have yet to file the statements of their assets and liabilities.

The electoral body had instructed all the members of National Assembly, provincial assemblies and the Senate to submit their statements till September 30.

The Election Commission will suspend the MPs those who fail to file the statements within the stipulated time.
