Hindu community candidates contesting on 50% of general seats in Tharparkar

THARPARKAR: Members of Hindu community in Tharparkar are taking keen interest in the Local government elections as the number of Hindu candidates contesting on general seats is about fifty percent.

The second phase of local government elections in Sindh will be held on 19th November.

According to data compiled by the election commission, a total of one thousand fifty candidates are contesting elections in Tharparkar district. Of them 455 are from Hindu community. They are contesting on general seats while reserved seats for minorities are also available to the community.

PPP has fielded a total of 162 Hindu candidates while PML-N is supporting 71 members of Hindu community in the elections.

Over four lakh ninety thousand voters are registered in the district.
