LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Tuesday announced Haris Sohail as Umar Akmal’s replacement in the ICC Champions Trophy that is scheduled to start next month. Haris Sohail, Umar Amin and Asif Zakir were being considered for the place in Pakistan squad that got vacant after Umar Akmal was dropped from the team. Haris Sohail, who suffered from knee injury two years ago, was the strongest contender for selection. PCB today confirmed that he will replace Umar Akmal after taking his fitness test at National Cricket Academy (NCA). Furthermore, Sohail will fly to England on the next available flight. It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan middle order batsman Umar Akmal failed two fitness tests during the ongoing training camp in England ahead of Champions Trophy, and had therefore been dropped from the team.
