Grower’s hunger strike continues for releasing irrigation water

BADIN: Growers of district Badin continued token hunger strike on second day consecutive & demanding for releasing irrigation water on immediate basis in Badin.

As details, hundreds of growers of district Badin allied with More Behar canal, Jakheji, Kazia & Morehari canals in lead of Muhammad Hanif Khaskheli, Gul Muhammad Mandhro, Rab Dino Jamali, Sikander Mandhro, Hanif Dogar & others staged protest demonstration in front of Badin Press Club & staged token hunger strike for releasing the irrigation water on immediate basis as unrest be reduced of thousands of growers.

While talking with media, representatives of growers said that growers of various canals are facing acute shortage of irrigation water for the past many months which had rendered them unable to cultivate their lands.

The growers demanded that water should be released in the canals of district Badin as early as possible while swift action should be taken against the officials responsible for the shortage.

Meanwhile, growers of the Seerani, Behdmi, Khoski, Nindo & Shadi Large areas took out a procession in front of Badin Press Club & chanted slogans in the favor of their demands.  On the occasion representatives of many political parties including Ali Ahmed Jokhio, Shahid Jokhio & others also joined them & ensured them their cooperation for releasing irrigation water for district Badin.
