Govt learned no lesson from Lahore incident: Pervaiz Elahi

LAHORE: Leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi Sunday lamented that the government didn’t learn any lesson from the unfortunate incident of Model Town, Lahore.

Pervaiz Elahi called on the sons of Pakistan Awasmi Tahreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri here and discussed matters relating to the latter’s welcome reception.

Later, talking to media representatives he said barricades are being erected in the peaceful welcome rally of Dr Tahirul Qadri and termed the arrest of PAT workers a condemnable act.

He said the steps being taken by the government is only contributing to restiveness in the country.

Hussain Mohiuddin, son of Dr Qadri, demanded that PAT workers be allowed to hold the welcome rally in peaceful manner.

Meanwhile, the PAT claimed over 500 of its workers across Pakistan have so far been taken into custody. However, the claim has been refuted by police.
