KARACHI: Chairman, Law and Order Standing Committee of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Nadeem Khan, has asked the provincial government to take into account the interests of the citizens before making any changes to the structure of Sindh Police.
He urged the government to make all appointments in Sindh Police strictly on merit. He also called for providing jobs in the police department to the children of retired as well as those policemen who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, he welcomed the statement of newly-appointed Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Ghulam Qadir Thebo that the ongoing operation in the city will continue till the elimination of crimes.
Nadeem Khan urged the AIG to make sincere efforts towards restoring peace in the city.
He said that it was the responsibility of the government to take concrete measures to ensure safety and security to the business community and the ordinary citizens. He urged the government to take business community into confidence while preparing security plans for the city.
He suggested that all city police stations should be equipped with an internet facility to ensure better contact with the general public.
He praised the services of former AIG Shahid Hayat saying that his efforts led to improvement in the city’s law and order.
