GOC Pano Aaqil inspects dykes work

NAUSHEHRO FEROZE: General Officer Commanding (GOC) Pano Aaqil along with Commissioner Nawabshah and Deputy Commissioner Naushehro Feroze visited embankments of River Indus to inspect the ongoing work being carried out by Irrigation department here on Thursday.
According to a statement, the GOC inspected protective embankments of Dadu Moro Bridge. Earlier, Superintendent Engineer of Rohri giving a briefing said that currently seven lac cusecs water was passing through the sites and embankments of both sides of the river and the dykes were much safe.
He said that stone and other material as well machinery was available at the sensitive points and embankments. Deputy Commissioner Naushehro, on the occasion, informed the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Pano Aaqil that the total population of Katcha area is 188200 and out of that 159000 flood victims were shifted to the safe place.
Adding that 126 relief camps had been established where all basic facilities were being provided. He also said that Health department had established 18 medical camps in varius areas of the district to provide medical treatment to the affectees.
