KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that Food Department Sindh has procured more than 90 lac wheat bags yet and the target of procurement of one crore and 30 lac wheat bags will be achieved soon. This he said while talking to a delegation of media men here is in office on Thursday. He said that procurement process was in full swing and all procurement centres were functioning well.
Replying to a question Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar said that Sindh Food Department had launched a massive crackdown against hoarders, profiteers and Commission mafia. He told the journalists that the special team of Food Department, during three days, raided in Panu Aqel, Noshero Feroz and Moro and recovered more than 2 Lac wheat bags which were illegally stored in different factories.
The Department has initiated investigation against those who were involved in hoarding. He said that due to measures of Food Department hoarding was reduced and the wheat and flour were available in market on official rates.
ANNUAL URS OF HAZRAT SYED ALI SARMAST MAURIPUR ROAD -KARACHI

KARACHI: Administrator, Auqaf , Karachi Division, Government of Sindh has announced that the Annual Urs of Hazrat Syed Ali Sarmast Mauripur Road, Karachi will be celebrated from 12th to 15th Rajab, 1435 Hijri i.e. 12th to 15th May 2014 under the control of Auqaf Department, Government of Sindh, Karachi.
A large number of Zaireen/ Devotees including VVIPs/ High Dignitaries of Karachi are expected to visit the Shrine of Hazrat Ali Sarmast, during the Urs days and pay homage to the Holy Saint.
CHIEF SECRETARY ASKS OFFICIALS TO EXPEDITE K.C.R. PROJECT

KARACHI: Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiana has asked the Secretary Transport to speed up the K.C.R. (Karachi Circular Railway) Project in view of the transport problem being faced by the people. He also advised the officials of Board Revenue, Karachi Administration and Finance Department to coordinate with Transport Department and Karachi Urban Transport Company to ensure the expeditious pace of development of K.C.R.
He was presiding over a meeting of K.C.R. project on Thursday at his office which was attended by Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Alam Din Bullo, Secretary Industries Shazia Rizvi, Secretary Finance Suhail Rajput, Secretary Transport Taaha Farooqi and Additional Commissioner-I Karachi M. Aslam Khoso.
Sajjad Saleem Hotiana categorically noted all issues must be got resolved by improving liaison amongst the relevant nation building departments. He also emphasized upon removal of encroachments resisting the K.C.R. track. He sought report on the issues of KCR from Managing Director KCR within a week.
