Flood updates: Authorities breach Sher Shah dyke to save Multan city

As floods continue to wreak havoc in Punjab, thousands of troops, police and other emergency personnel have been deployed to deliver drinking water, blankets and other relief supplies using helicopters and boats.
At least 257 people have been killed so far while 461 others have been injured.
In Larkana Divsion starting from Guddu Kashmore warning issued over 300 miles right bank Katcha areas of three districts.
Upcoming flood will disturb 225000 population and 204 villages in 24 Union Councils of three districts including Larkana, Shikarpur and Kashmore Guddu.
Speaking to the meet the Press, Commissioner Larkana Dr. Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo disclosed that the people of Katcha area have been issued earlier warning to immediately evacuate till 13th September 2014, they must shifted at safer places at relief camps near by Government schools, so that temporary education will be suspended in sensitive areas of three districts in Larkana division he said.
Commissioner Larkana division said that 8 lac cusec flood water will pas through Guddu and major vulnerable dykes in three districts where 16 sensitive sites at various embankments have been repaired, however, needs to surveillance at the locations he said.
He told PDMA has provided two motor boats, other flood fighting material to the affected districts, besides, required machines have also been moved to the sensitive vulnerable points, where the irrigation department and standby Navy and Army will be available for the further rescue and relief operation.
While PDMA Sindh officials visited the Aqil Agani, Nusrat Loop dykes and other locations to review the relief activities sites, they also directed concerned departments to ensure the relief operation during forth coming flood in Larkana division on the occasion.
