FIA to seek arrest warrants against MQM chief, 3 others in Imran Farooq’s murder

ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday has decided to approach a local court seeking arrest warrants for MQM chief along with others including Muhammad Anwar, Kashif Khan Kamran and Iftikhar Hussain in Imran Farooq murder case.
According to the details, the arrest warrants will be sent to United Kingdom through Interpol and the British authorities will be requested to hand over the suspects to Pakistan, the sources told privy to information told.
If UK authorities refused cooperation the Interpol will be approached for issuance of red warrant for the MQM leaders.
The move comes after two assassins, Mohsin Ali and Khalid Shamim, confessed to killing Dr Imran Farooq on the directions of Muhammad Anwar in London. Both suspects recorded confessional statements with a magistrate in Islamabad.
