LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday said Islamabad’s two neighbours India and Bangladesh have marched ahead of Pakistan.
Addressing a prize distribution ceremony for position holders of Matric and Intermediate students, the Punjab CM said people will have to put behind mutual conflicts to emerge as a formidable force for its enemies.
Shahbaz Sharif said millions of lives had been sacrificed to lay the foundation of Pakistan and more sacrifices are being rendered to save the motherland. “The time is upon us to decide as to what kind of Pakistan we wish to deliver to the next generation,” he added.
“Terrorism, insurgency and extremism can only be defeated through education”, Shahbaz told the students.
During the ceremony, 418 outstanding students across the country were given cash prizes worth Rs180 million, while Rs55 millions were also distributed among teachers for their dedication to the noble profession.
