Edu Secy Fazlullah Pechuho performs ground-breaking of school in Sukkur

SUKKUR: Sindh Education Secretary, Fazlullah Pechuho performed the ground-breaking ceremony at Government Primary and High School Sukkur on Friday, to mark the beginning of construction of government schools in Sukkur and Larkana divisions. These schools will be set up under the Sindh Basic Education Programme (SBEP).
Addressing the ceremony, Pechuho expressed his sincere appreciation for USAID’s efforts in promoting education in Sindh and appreciated the people of America for their continuous support for the development of education in Pakistan particularly in Sindh province.
He said that today the second school is being constructed here in Sukkur city with the cooperation of American people; and 11 more schools will also be constructed in the flood affected districts of Sindh including Sukkur, Larkana, Thatta, Dadu, Khairpur, Qambar- Shahdadkot and Jacobabad under SBEP.
He further said that USAID is spending dollars 155 million on these schools. He also said the Sindh Government is also spending dollars 10 million on this project.He said that all stakeholders including teachers will have to play a role in ridding the society of copy culture.
Additional Commissioner Sukkur, District Officers of different departments and officials from Sindh Education Department, as well as teachers, students, and members of the community also attended the
ceremony.
