Edu Dpt Sindh celebrates Int’ Literacy Day on Sept 08

LARKANA: Education Department Sindh organized walk and rallies to mark International Literacy Day at various districts and locations of Sindh province here on September 08.
A large number of school children as well as the representatives of various non-governmental organizations besides notables and educationists took part in the walk/rallies organized from main district headquarters and schools of the provinces.
In this regard awareness rally/walk started from Government Pilot Higher Secondary School and Government Girls Model High School about the importance of education among masses and ends at Larkana Press Club.
The rally was led by Deputy Commissioner Larkana, Director Education Larkana Ahsan Ahmed Soomro, Deputy Director Literacy and other concerned DO, Supervisors and other notables occasion.
Speakers said that government taking steps to promote literacy and basic education in the country so that all sections of the society actively participate in the literacy activities. They also emphasized on policy makers and change agents, particularly the political parties and parliamentarians that they should lead an important issue of literacy movement in their constituencies and national level.
