GHOTKI: DC Ghotki have fixed a license fee of Rs200,000 on small industries running across district Ghotki.
According to details, Deputy Commissioner Ghotki Ahmed Ali Qureshi suddenly visited at the office of Chief Muncipal Officer to receive the information of condition of cities and the receipt of collected taxes during 2013-2014. On receiving low tax collection Deputy Commissioner Ghotki directed the Chief Municpal Officer Faisal Memon to collect an annual license fee of Rs200,000 from each small industry including Oil mills, ice factories, cotton factories, sugar mills, gas fields.
Talking to media persons, Deputy Commissioner said that collected funds will be utilized in development works by installing street lights and improving drainage system.
Meanwhile, Mukhtiarkar Ghotki Nazir Ahmed Mahar visited Mathelo road, Qadirpur road, station raod, Kachahri road and other locations of city and imposed a fine of Rs4200 on 25 shopkeepers who were over charging. He further warned them they will be jailed if found overcharging next time.
