ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal says government has launched education, health and infrastructure schemes worth five hundred million dollars for Afghanistan.
He was talking to a visiting Afghan delegation comprising academicians, parliamentarians, students and civil society members in Islamabad today.
He said Pakistan and Afghanistan have to work together for promoting peace and stability in the region.
The Minister expressed his pleasure for the people-to-people contact initiative. These initiatives would be useful for harnessing the cultural and economic potential of both countries.
He said we have to start a new chapter in Pakistan-Afghanistan relations by focussing on social and economic dimensions of friendship.
Ahsan Iqbal said the seventh pillar of the Vision 2025, which envisaged regional connectivity, and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would play an important role for economics of the region.
