KARACHI: An accountability court has sent former federal minister Dr. Asim Hussain to jail on two-week judicial remand in corruption case, media reported on Tuesday.
According to media reports, the accused was produced by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials in a local court and presented a report.
NAB claimed in the report that Dr. Asim Hussain, a close aide of former President Asif Ali Zardari, is involved in corruption of Rs.462 billions, adding that the investigation is underway.
After hearing investigators, the court sent the accused to jail on judicial remand and directed authorities to come up with a challan against him in the next hearing on Feb. 22.
