COAS shares Charsada attack info with Ghani, Abdullah and Gen Campbell

RAWALPINDI: General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff, Thursday rang Afghan top leaders and Commander of Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan and shared with them details of the investigations carried out so far in Charsadda terror attack.
According to army’s top spokesman Lt. Gen. Asim Bajwa, Gen. Sharif held telephonic conversations with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and Commander of Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan General John Campbell.
Charsadda terror attack was being controlled from a location in Afghanistan through Afghan cellular phone by an operative of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), he said.
The army chief asked the Afghan leaders and the US commander for their cooperation in locating and targeting those responsible for heinous act and to bring them to justice, Bajwa said.
Yesterday, four gunmen stormed Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, killing at least 21 people, most of them students, and injuring 11 others.
