CM Sindh chairs Apex committee’s meeting on NAP

KARACHI: The meeting of Apex Committee regarding National Action Plan (NAP) presided over by Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah in Karachi, on Tuesday.
According to the details, the Sindh Apex Committee regarding implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) stated that at least 340 terrorists belonging to various banned outfits were killed during the operation.
The Inspector General (IG) Sindh briefed the participants on the ongoing situation. IG Sindh told that as many as twelve hundred people are also held under the Foreign Act.
He told the participants that at least seven hundred seventy shootouts took place as part of the operation in which three hundred forty terrorists belonging to notorious terrorist outfits including Tehreek-e-Taliban and Al-Qaeda.
The IG Sindh told that as many as 1200 people are also held under the Foreign Act.
The Committee was also told in the briefing that as many as five thousand two hundred and 23 weapons of various kinds have also been recovered. It said that 25 people included in the fourth schedule are still in the hideouts.
The report he presented further said that a heavy cache of explosives weighing at least one thousand five hundred kilogram has also been recovered from the terrorists.
Gvoernor Sindh and DG Rangers were presented the Apex Committee meeting.
