China bans Lady Gaga after Dalai Lama meeting

BEIJING: China has banned famous singer Lady Gaga after her meeting with exiled Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama, enlisting her among the hostile foreign forces against the country’s Communist party.

The US singer had held a meeting with Dalai Lama on Sunday, on the sidelines of a conference in Indianapolis.

Afterwards, a video of the 19-minute meeting was also uploaded on her Facebook fan page. During the meeting, they discussed issues such as meditation, mental health and how to detoxify humanity.

As a reaction to the singer’s meeting with the Tibetan leader, who is often dubbed as “wolf in monk’s robes,” Beijing moved for the crucial step against Lady Gaga.
It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that Dalai Lama is in exile since March 1959 and demands greater autonomy for Tibetans from China. However, China has declared him a separatist who is conspiring to split the Himalayan region from China.
