Chief Minister Sindh presides law enforcement authorities meeting about security issues

The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed the law enforcing authorities to re-visit their security strategy and prepare audacious and fool proof security plan with reference to present scenario and make it well equipped with expeditious intelligence sharing system and curb the terrorist before they act for nefarious designs. This he directed while presiding over meeting of law & order at committee room Sindh Secretariat today. The Sindh Minister Information Sharjeel Inam Memon, Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiyana, Secretary Home Dr. Niaz Abbasi, DG. Ranger Maj. Gen. Rizwan Akhtar, IG Sindh Police Iqbal Mehmood and other officers from LEA’s attended the meeting. The Chief Minister Sindh said that since the negotiation between Talban and Federal Govt, we the Sindh Govt had being threatened by terrorists, because of our (Sindh Govt) hard stand against the terrorism here in Sindh province. He said that now the terrorists have again threatened the Sindh Govt and have started their attacks, but failed to achieve their nefarious designs as we were already prepare to face them. Appreciating the audacious action by law enforcing agencies and airport security forces (ASF) during the operation against the terrorists at Jinnah International Airport the Chief Minister Sindh said that our security forces are strong enough to meet any eventuality of terrorism with success. He said that within shortest possible time Sindh Police will have bullet proof vehicles helmets, more APC, and other Security related equipments to fight with terrorist without their loss of lives. He said that Sindh Govt was well aware of the fact that this is not the end of war it is beginning but we are fully optimists that this war against the terrorist and for the peace, progress and prosperity of the people would be won by the Govt. He said that, though the terrorists who attacked on the Jinnah International Airport were well equipped but because of expeditious response by the law enforcing agencies and airport security force, the terrorists not only failed the achieve their targets but brutally killed on the spot and we treat them with same iron hand in future as well. However, the Chief Minister expressed his grief over the loss of lives of seven civil employees due to eruption of fire in cold storage during the operation against the terrorists said that to extinguish the fire was the responsibility of the Civil Aviation Authority CAA but instead of that he himself personally visited the site last night, made deployment of the forces, and enhanced the number of fire brigades and fire extinguishing staff to expedite the rescue operation. He asked the Chief Secretary to submit the complete report about this incident with causes and responsibility. The Director General Rangers Major. Gen. Rizwan Akhtar, while talking in the meeting said that terrorists were killed at their initial stage of attack within few hours. Lauding the efforts of Pak Army, Rangers, Sindh Police and specially Airport Security force, who according to him initially contained the terrorist till the arrival of other forces, the DG Ranger said that DNA of Killed terrorists is being made for their identification. He said that sprit and moral of our forces is high and our forces are full with national sprit and strong enough to defeat the terrorist / enemies easily. The Inspector General Sindh Police Iqbal Mehmood while briefing the meeting said that over all law & order situation was better and under control. Ratio of targeted killing is declining day by day but suddenly terrorist attack has been emerged and even it was got failed with combined efforts of law enforcing agencies.
The IG Police also briefed the meeting about the operation against the terrorist of Karachi airport and its achievements. The Chief Secretary Sindh Sajjad Saleem Hotiyana also briefed the meeting about the efforts to get the fire in cold storage of Karachi Airport extinguished and said that he himself also participated in this work. However due to heave chemical there it could not be controlled immediately but taken time. During the meeting when it was reported that terrorists have again attacked the ASF Camp near Karachi airport the Chief Minister Sindh suspended the meeting and directed the IG Sindh Police DG Rangers to rush the site along with forces and under take proper security step, take sever action against the attackers / criminals and ensure protection of lives and properties belonging to private and state organization, common man and report to him immediately.
