MUMBAI: Though Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput’s Delhi wedding on July 7 was a low-key affair, their Mumbai reception which was held at the Palladium Hotel was nothing less than an elaborate celebration which was attended by Bollywood biggies Amitabh Bachchan, actresses Sonam Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor among others.
Shahid Kapoor’s young bride Mira Rajput was a beauty in a white and blue creation by Manish Malhotra, while the groom was dapper in a three-piece suit by his close friend and designer, Kunal Rawal.
Amitabh Bachchan shared pictures along with the bridal couple from the reception on his blog. He wrote, “So as you know Shahid Kapoor got married .. to Mira and the reception was held today .. so I went across to wish them .. Marriages are special occasions in the life of us .. happiness always is what we wish them .. and a togetherness forever !!”
Shahid Kapoor’s co-stars Kangana Ranaut, Alia Bhatt and Sonam Kapoor were all dressed up for the celebrations. Kangana was lovely in a pink sari with a diamond necklace, while Sonam was an eye catcher in a blue and green Anuradha Vakil anarkali. Alia, who will be seen with Shahid in ‘Shaandaar’, was pretty in a cream and lilac coloured lehenga. His ‘Haider’ co-star Shraddha Kapoor was also present.
Boys Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor were dapper as ever. Preity Zinta put in a solo appearance in a bright pink Manish Malhotra sari, while Dia Mirza arrived with husband Sahil Sangha, looking lovely in Anita Dongre.
Filmmakers Vishal Bhardwaj, Vikramaditya Motwane, Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl also arrived to wish the couple. Shahid Kapoor’s stepfather Rajesh Khattar and his wife Vandana Sajnani were also seen at the reception. Shahid’s aunt Ratna Pathak Shah, who is the elder sister of Supriya Pathak, also attended the reception with her sons Vivan and Imaad Shah.
