YAOUNDI: Suspected Boko Haram militants have killed at least six people and kidnapped more than 50 in a raid on a village in northern Cameroon.
The attack took place in the early hours in the village of Tchakamari in the region known as the Extreme North, which is on the border with Boko Haram’s Nigerian strongholds.
A vigilante from a neighbouring village gave a higher toll, saying eight had been killed, 135 abducted and many homes burned.
Boko Haram attacked the village of Tchakamari at around one in the morning Tuesday, killing at least six people.
