Blast injures five QRF officials, one passerby in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, Apr 24 (INP) At least five officials of Quick Response Force (QRF) and one passerby sustained injuries in a blast near Gulbahar Police Station in Peshawar on Friday morning.

According to police, the bomb was planted alongside the road and when the QRF car reached near it the bomb exploded injuring five officials and a passerby.

Police team and high officials reached the scene and cordoned off the area whereas rescue teams shifted the injured to Lady Reading Hospital for medical assistance. The condition of one QRF official is said to be critical.

As per police reports, the blast was conducted through remote controlled device and carried two kilograms explosives.

Meanwhile in a search operation in Nasir Bagh area of the provincial capital police arrested four suspected terrorists and recovered a huge quantity of explosives and arms from the militants.

Sources said the arrested terrorists were taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
