KARACHI: Former prime minister, Yusuf Raza Gilani Monday announced that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Patron-in-Chief, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address a public meeting near Mazar-e-Quaid here on October 18.
Briefing the media representatives following the PPP Core Committee’s meeting, Gilani said the PPP workers have rendered numerous sacrifices for the cause of democracy.
The date for the procession was chosen keeping in mind the Karsaz tragedy of October 18, 2007 in which dozens of PPP workers had lost their lives while scores others suffered injuries.
“Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will too resume his political journey from October 18 and bring true democracy in the country,” Yusuf Raza Gilani said.
He said Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto gave this nation a constitution and that is why this country has continued to remain secure.
