I can say with some confidence that Bilwal Bhutto Zardari’s legacy will be written in golden words.
I don’t say this as his forgotten little party worker of the Pakistan People’s Party but as a Journalist.
I would compare his presidency to that of Zuilfaqar Ali Bhutto ‘s intentions to restore national confidence were in several shapes. He spoke about democracy, a new Constitution, and a modified federal and parliamentary system. He took steps to stabilize the situation by successfully negotiating the return of the 93,000 prisoners of war and a peaceful settlement with India. He took steps to ameliorate poverty and to revitalize the economy, industry and agriculture. He gave the third Constitution to the country and established civilian authority over the armed forces in the political setup.
And Now The recent call made by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to reinvigorate the party and address concerns of disgruntled PPP workers (For unexplained reasons), the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari apologised to his party’s estranged workers and appealed to them to reconsider their decision to join other parties, where he added that being a democratic party the PPP welcomed differences of opinion, adding that the best way for workers was to attend party meetings and strive for bringing about changes they wanted and put the country on the road to progress and prosperity.
In an open letter to supporters, Bilawal Bhutto conceded that mistakes had been committed in the past and pledged to correct them to regain workers’ trust.
This Histroy will also be written in golden words that India thas termed Bilawal as “far from reality” comment of PPP leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that his party will get back entire Kashmir from it and asserted the integrity and unity of the country was “non negotiable”.
“We are in the process of looking forward and looking forward does not mean that our borders will be changed. We made it very clear that as far as we are concerned, the integrity and unity of India is non negotiable,”
Addressing party workers in Multan region in Punjab yesterday, Bilawal, the ‘Gen-Next’ politician of Pakistan, had said his PPP would get back entire Kashmir from India.
“I will take back Kashmir, all of it, and I will not leave behind a single inch of it because, like the other provinces, it belongs to Pakistan,” said the scion of highly influential Bhutto family.
Despite all of this, he presided over the first peaceful democratic transfer of power in our country’s history. Bilwal`s PPP passed the historic 18th amendment, gave up his powers as the most powerful civilian president and devolved much power from the center to the provinces, strengthening both democracy and the federation.
He fulfilling the dream of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Man of Wisdom Former President honourable Asif Ali Zardari by offered an unconditional apology to them in an open letter this week, leading that the loyalists stay with the party.
And now, the political watch dogs says the young BBZ is being focused on governance in Sindh and helping the improve lives of his fellow Sindhis as well as Punajbis, Pakhtuns, Balochs, Siraikis and Urdu Speakings.
He lost his mother in this battle, but he won the war. Democracy has arrived. Mark my words; history is making Bilwal Bhutto Zardari as one of the greatest and most successful leaders the country has ever seen.
