At least 30 people were injured on Wednesday after the roof of a factory collapsed on Sheikhupura road in Gujranwala.
As per initial reports, the roof of the factory collapsed following a boiler explosion which triggered cylinder blasts.
The rescue teams arrived at scene, evacuated the injured with the help of locals and shifted them to nearby medical facilities. “Our workers have shifted at least 21 people to Civil Hospital for emergency medical treatment,” Rescue 1122 in-charge Muhammad Umar said.
According to eyewitnesses, as many as four blasts were heard in the factory which employs around 200 workers. Rescuers are still searching for those trapped under the debris.
