Atleast 60 devotees martyr & 200 injured in suicide attack at Qalandar Lal Shahbaz

SEHWAN SHARIF: At least 60 people were killed and 200 others injured in a suicide blast at Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine in Sehwan Sharif Jamshoro district here on Thursday.

The bomber exploded at shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar at Sehwan, reportedly a large number of followers gathering was convened every Thursday have sustained injuries in the blast. On the day new thousands devotees reached Sehwan and brought chaddar to laid on the Saint-grave.

This activity continued was marked by a large number of devotees, who remain present at the shrine throughout the night.

SSP Sehwan has said that the blast was a suicide attack and the suicide bomber entered the shrine from its golden gate, while eye witnesses, claimed that blast occurred within the premises of the shrine during the Dhamaal rituals were ongoing the bomber blew himself and killed over 15 and injured around 100 attendees.

The emergency declared in Sehwan Taluka Hospital and Dadu, while Medical Superintendent Moinuddin Siddiqui has confirmed that at least 30 bodies have been brought to the hospital while more than 200 others injured. The police reached the spot and cordoned off the area on the occasion.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the administration and police officials of the district to rescue the services properly at Sehwan in Jamshoro district a constituency of Sindh Chief Minister. The district and Hyderabad hospital alerted for the shifting of injured and rescue operations. Chief of Army Staff General have also directed to assistance to civil authorities and Army contingents have been dispatched along with medical personnel.

President, Prime Minister Muhammed Nawaz Sharif has condemned explosion in the premises of Lal Shehbaz Qalandar, they vowed that blasts never frightened or divide the nation.

PM said that Sufia-e-Ikram have played vital role in preaching of Islam in sub-continent and attack on their shrine was the direct attack at Jinnah’s Pakistan and his heart in pain over the lost of precious lives in the blast.

A terrorist attack near Punjab Assembly in Lahore had claimed at least 13 lives including two top police officials of the province on Monday.

This should be noted that India has been found actively involved behind terrorism in several areas of Pakistan.
