Armed loot passenger coaches and truck drivers

DADU: A group of armed-men blocked Indus highway at Haitam Jatoi railway crossings, held hostage all coach passengers and truck drivers and looted gold, cash, mobile phones and valuable things from passengers and drivers worth millions of rupees on late Sunday night.

According to detail, a group of nine unknown robbers blocked Indus highway and they looted millions of rupees from coach passengers and drivers on gun point and escaped away from the scene easily.

In reaction, coach passengers and truck drivers blocked Indus highway at Haitam Jatoi railway crossing for three hours to protest against rampant lawlessness in town. They staged demonstration and raised slogans against Dadu Police. Owing to blockade, hundreds of vehicles stopped at Indus highway and passengers suffered for three hours.

Addressing to demonstrators, they said that due rampant lawlessness, passengers feel insecure in travelling at nights. They said that Dadu Police is backing robbers hence not taking action against criminals.

They appealed to CM sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take against the senior police officer for worsening law and order situation in Dadu district. They said that this fourth time, such robberies taken place with the period of three months.
