Anti-polio drive: 1600 parents refuse to get their children vaccinated

KARACHI: Parents of over 1600 children refused to get their children administered with anti-polio drops in Karachi on Sunday, Geo reported.

According to sources in the health department, three-day anti-polio drive is underway in 11 sensitive Union Councils of the port city. The parents refused to get their children administered the vaccine in Gaddap, Baldia, Bin Qasim, Landi, Liaquatabad and SITE areas.

Sources said the parents refused on several grounds including arrival of polio workers constantly.

No one is booked over this act despite the government orders to register FIR against those parents who refuse to get their children vaccinated.
