Andan Sami requests again for Indian citizenship

NEW DELHI: Adnan Sami Khan is going to become an Indian citizenship, according to media reports.

As per details, the 43-year-old singer, Adnan Sami who has been living in India for over a decade was granted leave to stay indefinitely after he did not renew his Pakistani passport.

According to media reports, Adnan Sami Khan has sought Indian citizenship having renounced his Pakistani citizenship.

Last month, the home ministry had asked the law ministry as to whether Sami can be granted Indian citizenship.

The law ministry refused to entertain the request, saying that the power of granting Indian citizenship lies with the home ministry under the Citizenship Act, but offered to help the home ministry with interpreting any provision of the law to enable it to decide Sami’s case.
