Altaf demands Karachi be made a separate province; MQM accepted as patriotic party

KARACHI , Apr 25 (INP) Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has demanded to make Karachi a separate province. He said that Hyderabad, Sukkur, South Waziristan, and Gilgit-Baltistan should also be made separate provinces.

Addressing a large number of his party workers gathered at Jinnah Ground, Azizabad to celebrate the victory in NA-246 by-poll, Altaf Hussain said that the people of Karachi seek a separate province for themselves.

Altaf Hussain further said that there was a need for more provinces in the country, especially in areas dominated by the Hazara and Siraiki speaking people.

Altaf Hussain asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to give justice to people especially to the people of Karachi, saying if he fails to do so, he should resign from his office.

Altaf Hussain also pointed out the rangers took recourse to illegal and unconstitutional undertakings at polling stations on the election day, saying, “None other than Allah Almighty can trammel rangers, if they commit a wrongdoing.”

He claimed that the party would have bagged 250,000 votes, had the polling time been extended; but, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) cried out, ‘Polling time should not be extended as the MQM is hitting the mark quite marvelously.’

Lavishing laurels on the workers, the MQM chief congratulated them and highlighted that the workers put up an undaunted show in the face of troubles, ordeals and hurdles.

The biased analysts said the MQM’s vote graph is on downward trajectory but the people proved them wrong by repudiating all false charges levelled against the party, he gloated.

Altaf Hussain underlined Karachi is not an occupied territory wherein political tactics are unleashed.

Altaf Hussain asked the masses to vote for MQM in local bodies elections in the cantonment boards today as they voted for Haq Parast candidate in the by-election in NA-246 a day before.

He said MQM should be accepted as a patriotic and respectable party of the country. He said even today his party is ready to fight for the country side by side with military.

Altaf Hussain urged the establishment to end brawl with MQM, which he said is without any reason.
