AGRICULTURISTS, POLITICIANS LASH OUT AT GOVT OVER ECONOMIC MURDER OF SINDH

A big gathering of agriculturists, landholders, growers, leaders of all Sindh-based political leaders was held here wherein the speakers lashed at Sindh government for its failure to implement the order of Sindh High Court which had given ordered sugar mill owners to pay sugarcane price of Rs.182 to growers and to start their mills. Sugar mill owners were adamant to pay at rate fixed by government and SHC and instead were offering Rs.152 and also have closed down their mills causing 70% population of Sindh related to agriculture to enforced starvation.
The gathering organized by former Zila Nazim of Tando Allahyar Ms. Raheela Gul Magsi at her residence was attended by two former chief ministers Arbab Rahim, Liaquat Ali Jatoi, former speaker National Assembly Illahi Bux Soomro,leader of opposition in Sindh assembly Shahryar Mahar, MPA Ms. Nusrat Saher Abbasi, MPA Nasir Nizamani, MQM MPAs Ashfaq Mangi, Rashid Khilji, Dilawar Qureshi,MQM zonal incharge Naveed Shamsi,MNA Kirshanchand Parwani, MNA Zafar Ali Shah, MPA Shafqat Shirazi, MNA Aijaz Shah Shirazi,PTI MPA Hafeez Rajput, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz vice chairman Dr. Niaz Kalani, Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party chairman Dr. Qadir Magsi, Qaumi Awami Tehrik president Ayaz Latif Palijo, Sindh president of All Pakistan Muslim League Shahabddin Shah Hussaini, president Hyderabad chamber of commerce and industry Seth Goharullah, vice president Ziauddin, MLN Sindh vice president Shah Muhammad Shah, Sindh Abadgar Board president Abdul Majid Nizamani, secretary general Zulfiqar Yousfani, Sardar Sher Muhammad Rind, Sardar Ghulam Mustafa Khaskheli,Haji Nisar Memon president Hyd Gymkhana, MPA Rafiq Bhanbhan and many others.
The speakers said out of 31 sugar mills in Sindh 17 were owned by Asif Zardari. They demanded his accountability of corruption. That is why growers were denied the price of sugarcane at rate ordered by high court. They asked chief minister, agriculture minister and secretary all were sleeping. They said Sndh produces 400 million maunds of sugarcane valued at Rs.70 billions due to non purchase of commodity by sugar mills Sindh economy has lost economy of 70 billions due to which land holders as well as farmers(peasants) were facing financial hardships to extent of starvation. They demanded from chief justice and army chief to take notice of sad distress of farmers of Sindh and come to their rescue by taking action against mill owners. Many speakers demanded sugar mill owners to be prosecuted in military courts as causing destruction to 70% people of Sindh was blatant terrorism.
The gathering formed committee to raise issue with authorities and if needed give call for Dharna to press their legitimate demand.

Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry has demanded from government to release grand of funds for improvement of infrastructure of Site Hyderabad and Kotri on lines as Site Karachi was given Rs.2.7 millions for same purpose. This was stated by Hyd Site ATI chairman Aslam Memon and Muhammad Shahid Qaimkhani chairman media cell of association talking with Messenger here. They tall the roads were broken and in dilapidated condition. Apart from often accidents the transportation of industrial products was facing difficulties, they said and added that devastation of street light system has plunged the area in dark increasing the possibilities of robberies.F block road should cleared which has been blocked due to thermal power construction.They said water supply lines were also in shabby condition with illegal connection here and there. Drainage system was also not working. They demanded improving same. They said that the issue of encroachment has encouraged criminal elements to grab lands of site. These anti social elements have set up their dens due to which the industrialist were feeling unsafe as also workers were being targeted by such criminals. Many times Site Tenant director was approached to but so far action is awaited. They demanded arrangement of security and fire staff for second shift.Filter plant inaugurated some time back should also be started,they demanded. There was no arrangement for disposal of solid waste as such they asked for such system to avoid heaps of garbage littered all over the area. They hailed formation of works committee which they said will prove light in darkness.
They hoped if the infrastructure of Site was improved without furthers delay it would help process of industrial development to increase further with more industrial units to be opened.

Commissioner Larkana dissolved the body of Arts Council Pakistan Larkana and appointed the new office bearers till the new election to be held on 25th January 2015 here on Thursday.
The Commissioner Larkana who is also President of Arts Council Pakistan Larkana Dr Saeed Ahmed Magnejo by taking notice of complaints of members and following the demands of general body has dissolved body of Arts Council Pakistan Larkana and issued a notification of appointing new office bearers among for Vice President renowned intellectual and educationist Professor Mukhtiar Samu, Secretary Muhammad Hussain Makani and Treasurer Imdad Hussain Channa new appointed office bearers will perform their services till the upcoming election to be held on 25th January 2015.
It is pertinent to mention here that members of Arts Council Pakistan Larkana had leveled serious allegations of misusing of funds and malpractice; they had demanded the action from Commissioner against the old office bearers.

Crime rate rise in Larkan, armed men looted Rs 0.3 million from trader in broad day light near Jelus Bazar Larkana on Thursday.
According to reports two armed men riding on motorcycle barged into the shop of oil trader Moti Lal in the locality of Jelus Bazar Larkana and robbed Rs 0.3 million on gun point and fled away from the scene in the jurisdiction of Market Police Station.
While Last night, two armed person snatched Rs 0.5 million from Peeral Chandio resident of Luhar colony Larkana outside the private bank at Lahori muhalla Larkana when he came out after withdrawing cash from bank counter, armed men escaped from scene after the incident in the jurisdiction of Civil Line Police Station.
The business community and citizens have expressed concern over the worsening law and order situation and traders are insecure in their shops and houses, they called for the posting of honest Police officers in Larkana district who could overcome the prevailing environment of uncertainty.

LARKANA:
Deputy Commissioner Larkana Javed Jagirani has said that at least two more bridges should be constructed in Larkana city to address the traffic issue, he said this while speaking with journalists during his visit at Larkana Press Club here on Wednesday.
DC Larkana said that anti encroachment drive initiated by former Deputy Commissioner Larkana Ghanwar Ali Leghari will continue to remove the illegal encroachment from different roads and streets, in this regard; private bus and van Addas will be shifted from city to new terminal and other bypass roads.
Javed Jagirani, district administration is planning to develop 3 model parks out of 17 parks in city including Jinah Bagh, Zulifqar Bagh and Bakhtawar park where big LCD Screen will be set up to entertain the public, he said.
The Deputy Commissioner Larkana disclosed that 531 Muslim sweepers had been appointed in Tauka Municipal Corporation Larkana getting salaries without performing their services, added that only 250 sanitary workers are providing the cleanliness facilities under NSUSC Larkana.
DC Javed Jagirani said that mega drainage scheme with cost of Rs 800 million is in progress to upgrade the drainage system and divert the sewerage pipe lines of several pump stations in Larkana city from Rice canal and Dadu canal to other places, adding that he held meeting with PD NSUSC to discuss about the matters relating to cleanliness.

DC to preside polio eradication meeting today

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sukkur Shahzad Fazal Abbasi will preside over a meeting of the Polio campaigns at his office here on Friday Jan 09.
The meeting will be attended by the SSP, DHO, all concerned district officers including office-bearers of the Expanded Programme on Immunization and representatives of international partner agencies.
The meeting will review progress in this regard and make recommendations for the future.

TWO DACOITS KILLED, TWO ARRESTED

SHIKARPUR:
two of the notorious dacoits were killed while two others were arrested by police when they were injured during the encounter took place between the dacoits and the police on the Kot shahu link road within the jurisdiction of Faizo police station on Thursday morning.
According to reports, some group of seven armed dacoits were standing on Kot Shahu link road to commit a serious offence and opened fires on police party when the saw the police coming towards them. While the special police party headed by CIA in-charge Shikarpur Abdul Qadir Chandio was on its way towards Kot shahu katcha area to conduct police operation for recovery of one businessman Jai Ram das of Kandhkot who was kidnapped some 2-3 weeks ago form the jurisdiction of Naparkot police station.
As a result of exchange of fires two dacoits identified as Arbelo Jatoi of 40, and Hazaar Khan Jatoi of 38 was killed on the spot while two other dacoits identified as Kandiro Jatoi and Sukhial Jatoi received bullet injures. The injured dacoits were arrested by police from the place of firing, when three of the dacoits slipped away from the seen of firing.
The dead bodies of the deceased dacoits and the injured were sent to Civil Hospital Shikarpur for conducting post-mortem examination and the medical treatment of the injured dacoits.
Police have recovered two Kalashnikovs, two shot guns, one stolen motorcycle and good number of bullets from the possession of the dacoits.
According to police the killed and injured dacoits were wanted to police in many heinous crimes. Further police investigation is in progress.

According to details, several people of Sanjrani community held a protest demonstration rally from Rustam Chowk to Lakhi Gate Clock Tower led by Moula Bux, Sadaruddin, Mujeeb-ul-Rahman and several protesters all of Sanjrani community said to that passage of seven months our relative employee of Health Department Abdul Rahman Sanjrani was killed by some armed men but police have failed to arrest involved culprits and use delaying tactics.
On the occasion protesters demanded to high-up to take immediate notice of the matter and provide justice otherwise they threatened to enlarge their protest level.

Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur organized One-Day Conference in connection with to mark the hundred year’s services of legend literary personality and historian Mr. Mohammad Ibrahim Joyo on thhursday,. Renowned educationist Mr. Mazhar-ul-Haq Siddiqui presided over the conference. MPA Sindh Assembly, Mehtab Akbar Rashidi was the chief guest on this occasion.
While delivering presidential address, Mr. Mazhar-ul-Haque Siddiqui said that Mr. Joyo is the icon and towering personality. He rendered untiring services for the upliftment of the Sindhi literature and worked for the downtrodden people of Sindh. He said Sindh remained his focus, he wrote famous book Save Sindh Save Continent is the glaring example of his commitment with motherland.
He said that the survival of Sindh is linked with quality education, respect of teachers and institutions. Mr. Siddiqui said it is high time that we must refrain from hollow slogans and firmly believe in practicalism and avoid from the boycott culture in the academic institutions. He said it is high time that teachers, government and parents must strive for the betterment of the education of Sindh
MPA –F Mehtab Akbar Rashidi said Mr. Joyo is the versatile personality. His work and thoughts are for the development of Sindh. He is the champion of humanism. He worked a lot for the survival and progress of Sindh. The work of Ibrahim Joyo is against Fascism. Joyo struggled against the exploitation of peasants and labours.
Mehtab Rashdi said that at present feudalism in India is weakened but in Pakistan it is strong. Ibrahim Joyo devoted his life for the democratic Sindh, national unity, revival of educational system of Sindh. Joyo defended the water case of Sindh and he also remained against the one-unit.
Prof. Dr. Parveen Shah, Vice Chancellor said that it is matter of pride for us for holding this meaningful conference on the hundred year’s services rendered by Mr. Joyo. Dr. Shah said Mr. Joyo is the name of struggle and commitment. He loves Sindh and its people. He is the legendary historian of Sindh. Mr. Joyo himself is a century in his life and action.
Mr. Mukhtiar Malik said that Mr. Joyo produced new spirit and enthusiasm for literary circle. He is working for the Sindhi language and literature. His struggle is against social inequality and for the self-determination of Sindh. He said that Mr. Joyo fought against the extremism in the society.
Mr. Shoukat Shoro said that Ibrahim Joyo is against class-based system and he believes in enlightened society. Mr. Shoro revealed that in year 1955 Mr. Joyo served in Sindhi Adbi Board and brought Megazine Mehran. He wrote stories against the feudal and capital system.
Mr. Taj Joyo, Secretary, Sindhi Language Authority said Ibrahim Joyo is the multidimensional personality. He wrote more than 2000 letters to literary circles of India and Sindh. He is committed for the promotion of national consciousness. During the Ayoub’s regime, his letters were banned.
Mr. Madad Ali Sindhi, Renowned Journalist said that Mehran Magazine was the literary defender of Sindhi language brought by Mr. Joyo. Mr. Joyo is working for the security and prosperity of Sindh and Pakistan.
Mr. Saleem Memon said that the services of Mr. Joyo are remarkable. We are observing hundred year’s celebrations of Mr. Joyo. It is recalled that five public sector general Universities of Sindh are sponsoring in this noble cause. Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur is the first University published three books of Joyo and organized conference.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Khushk, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences & Arts said that we are highly thankful to Mr. Joyo who rendered excellent services for the promotion of Sindhi literature. He said that his contribution is laudable for the change of the society. Dr. Khushk said after Allama I. I Kazi, Dr. Nabi Bux Balouch, Mr. Ibrahim Joyo is the dynamic personality of Sindh who is working for the cause of Sindh.
Three books of Mr. Joyo were published by the SALU, Khairpur unveiled are Sami Ja Salook, Jaron Jani Ji Jee Main and Muth Muth Motiyon.

The Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur has arranged two days International Conference on “Literature, Society and Reconstruction, Past, Present and Future” from 14th -15th January-2015.
Briefing TO news man about the arrangements of conference on Thursday ,Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Khushk, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences & Arts , told that 64 scholars of national and international level will participate in this conference. He said that the foreign scholars of 17 countries including, USA, Sweden, Spain, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, India, Germany, Canada and others will also present their papers. He said that Higher Education Commission is also collaborative partner of the conference. Dr. Khushk informed that Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah will be Chief Guest. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman, HEC, Mr. Justice (Retd) Syed Ali Aslam Jafferi and others will also be participating.
He said the impact of literature on the society is very important because literature provides the culture of tolerance, peace and progress and this conference will provide an international platform for the promotion of culture, literature and enlighten society.

The spokesperson of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur has announced on Wednesday, that a mega project of Shah Abdul Latif University titled “Strengthening of Academic Facilities at SALU” costing to around Rs. 700 million (70 crores) has been approved in meeting of CDWP (Central Development Working Party) held at Islamabad.
Meeting was chaired by Mr Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Reforms, and Government of Pakistan. University delegation consisting Prof Dr Lutfullah Mangi Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah Advisor to Vice Chancellor on P&D and Engr. Imdad Ali Sial Project Director Works defended the project.
Under this project, an academic block with classrooms, lecture theatres & laboratories will be constructed. One boy’s hostel for 200 students will be established. The extension of services & administration block is also part of this project in which various offices & directorates will be established to promote research activities.
The extension of Date Palm Research Institute (DPRI), construction of multi-purpose sports hall, main entrance gate and boundary wall are also approved under this project. The ICT equipment & teaching aids will be provided to all teaching departments, networking of the entire university will be upgraded.
SALU FM Radio Station will also be established in the Department of Media Studies to promote educational documentaries, career planning, hygienic awareness, Talk Shows, Sports, scholarship opportunities, Current Affairs, International Affairs, Culture and Traditions, etc. New furniture will be purchased for various departments. Books & journals for all departments will be purchased under this project. Three (3) new buses will be provided to female students under this scheme.
The project will change the academic scenario of the campus and will provide physical and research development of the campus and will facilitate the students according to modern lines as per international standard said spoke man.

KHAIRPUR: ATC khairpur convicted 57-57 year’s imprisonment, to two terrorists and imposed fine Rs. 0.125 million each on Thursday.
According to detail the judge for anti terrorists court Khairpur Kausar Ali Bhukhari announced the judgment of carrying explosive matter and on proved the case convicted for 57-57 years regorious imprisonment and imposed fine of Rs. 0.125 million upon two accused Farooq Ahmed Mahsood s/o Muhammad Afzal Mahsood and Zeeshan Ahmed s/o Muhammad Manazir Khan Pathan.
The accused were arrested by Gambat police in year 2012 near Makhdoom Gate national highway when they were goining to Karachi from Waziristan and police recovered Two K.K, 100 bulets, one flyer gun, 25 cartidiges of flyer gun, 6 rocket launchers, 9 cartidiges of projectile, deto nettor and other explosive material from possession and they were challaned in ATC court Khairpur.
